After a lot of us traveled to Atlanta for NBS Nationals, we’re all back at it here at KWTS. We didn’t come back empty handed, either. Our National Broadcasting Society chapter brought back 12 awards. Plus, those who attended gained valuable advice and networking opportunities from the professionals at the convention. We had some fun, too. Atlanta had a lot of places to go see and tour, including CNN Headquarters.
Now, it’s time to sprint to the finish line. We have about one more month of the semester left to go, and it’s jam packed with activities and projects.
Every semester, WT Broadcasting and the Advanced Video Production class produces One Sessions, which is a live recording of a musical performance. However, this year we will be doing it a little bit different. Next week, the class is shooting footage to package together with performances from the early years of One Sessions.
Then, on April 11th KWTS will be participating in the Trash-Off Day for the Adopt-A-Highway program. This is where everyone who has adopted a stretch of highway goes out and makes sure it is looking beautiful. Continuing with community service, KWTS will team up with NBS to build a shack for WT’s Shack-A-Thon. This event raises awareness of poverty and raises money to provide a goat for families in Africa.
Finally, we are already thinking about programming and staff for next semester. Staff applications are out for KWTS, WTTV, and lab assistants! Come pick one up if you want to be a part of WT Broadcasting! They are located outside FAC 173.
As you can see, we have a lot going on! We’ll keep you updated on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and here!
With all that we have to do, sometimes we wish we had superpowers. Which one would you like to have?
